Hot Chocolate Recipes

Winter is knocking on our doors, and what better way to embrace the season than with a cosy cup of hot chocolate. At Cafea UK we’ve prepared a selection of mouth-watering hot chocolate recipes that are sure to keep you snug as a bug in a rug all winter long.

 

Classic Hot Chocolate

Ingredients:

2 cups of milk

2 ounces of semi-sweet chocolate, chopped

2 tablespoons of unsweetened cocoa powder

2 tablespoons of sugar

½ teaspoon of vanilla extract

Instructions:

In a saucepan, heat the milk over medium heat until it’s hot but not boiling.

Add the chopped chocolate, cocoa powder, and sugar. Whisk until the chocolate is melted and the mixture is smooth.

Stir in the vanilla extract.

Pour the hot chocolate into mugs and top with shipped cream, marshmallows, or chocolate shavings.

Peppermint Hot Chocolate

Ingredients:

2 cups of milk

2 ounces of milk chocolate, chopped

2 tablespoons of unsweetened cocoa powder

½ teaspoon of peppermint extract

Instructions:

Heat the milk until hot but not boiling in a saucepan.

Add the milk chocolate, cocoa powder, and sugar. Stir until the chocolate is fully melted.

Stir in the peppermint extract.

Top with whipped cream and crushed peppermint sweets.

Spiced Hot Chocolate

Ingredients:

2 cups of milk

2 ounces of dar chocolate, chopped

2 tablespoons of unsweetened cocoa powder

2 tablespoons of sugar

½ teaspoon of cinnamon

¼ teaspoon of nutmeg

Instructions:

Heat the milk in a saucepan until hot but not boiling.

Add the dark chocolate, cocoa powder, and sugar. Stir until the chocolate is fully melted.

Add the cinnamon and nutmeg and whisk to combine.

Serve in a mug and garnish with whipped cream and a sprinkle of cinnamon.

Vegan Hot Chocolate

Ingredients:

2 cups of almond milk (or any plant-based milk)

2 tablespoons of cocoa powder

2 tablespoons of maple syrup (or to taste)

½ teaspoon of vanilla extract

Instructions:

Heat the almond milk in a saucepan until hot but not boiling.

Whisk in the cocoa powder, maple syrup, and vanilla extract until well combined.

Serve and garnish with vegan whipped cream and shaved dark chocolate.

White Hot Chocolate

Ingredients:

2 cups of milk

4 ounces of white chocolate, chopped

½ teaspoon of vanilla extract

Instructions:

Heat the milk in a saucepan until its hot but not boiling.

Add the white chocolate and stir until its completed melted and the mixture is smooth.

Stir in the vanilla extract.

Top with whipped cream and a sprinkle of grated white chocolate.
